Janelle has a Masters in Public Administration and a B.S. in Political Science concentrated in American Government from the University of North Georgia. After graduation, Janelle worked on the special election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional district. Once the election concluded, Janelle went on to be a Legislative Assistant in the State Senate for Senator Jesse Stone and Senator Lee Anderson. Janelle also served as the recording secretary for the Senate Judiciary Committee. After the 2019 session, Janelle moved to the Georgia Department of Transportation where she worked as the Policy and Government Affairs Specialist.

Janelle resides in Sugar Hill, GA with her husband, Matt, and black Labrador puppy, Justice. Janelle and her husband spend most of their time at the baseball field or at the golf course. Janelle also serves on the Board of Directors for Miss Atlanta, a local preliminary for the Miss America Organization.
